Working with the Canepa firm provided Neal with vast experience handling complex civil litigation, specifically within the area of construction defect law. Following his tenure at the Canepa firm, Neal continued to grow his practice over the next six (6) years operating his own law firm and handling both complex civil and various defense-related matters. Neal has handled nearly every type of construction defect claim from condominiums and townhouses to massive single family home cases. Neal has even represented various homeowners' associations in Nevada resolving project-wide issues. Neal has tried cases outside of Clark County as well. For example, in Morris v. Somers, Neal obtained over $700,000 in a single family home case when the seller failed to disclose construction defects to the buyer.
Although construction defect litigation has been a large focus of Neal's practice, he has also handled numerous personal injury claims involving everything from car accident cases to nursing home abuse claims. Recently, Neal argued, En Banc, before the Nevada Supreme Court in Valley Health System, LLC v. Eighth Judicial District Court (Docket No. 56239). Over his fifteen (15) years of practicing law, Neal has obtained gross recoveries totaling millions of dollars.
Neal is based in Morris, Sullivan & Lemkul's Las Vegas/Henderson office and oversees its daily operations. Neal obtained his Bachelor's degree in 1993 at the University of Nevada, Reno. Neal attended law school in San Diego, California, obtaining his Juris Doctorate Degree from California Western School of Law in 1996. While at California Western, Neal obtained the American Jurisprudence award in Federal Courts and was on the Dean's Honor List. Neal was also a Member of Phi Delta Phi Honors Legal Fraternity and he clerked for two Federal Court Judges. After law school, Neal clerked for The Honorable Judge Breen. In addition, Neal worked for the commercial/business law firm Hardesty Bader & Ryan, and served as a deputy district attorney prosecuting numerous felony, gross misdemeanor and misdemeanor cases, many of which went to trial. During that time, Neal was a member of the State Bar of Nevada Consumer Protection Committee and the Nevada Inns of Court, Bruce R. Thompson Chapter. Neal also worked briefly for the insurance defense coverage law firm, Blick, Doty & Gill in San Diego, California.
