Andrew Poplin


Andrew Poplin is an associate at Morris, Sullivan & Lemkul LLP's San Diego office, where he focuses on construction, personal injury, and complex civil litigation matters. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Poplin practiced at Saccuzzo Johnson & Poplin LLP and Poplin Law Group APC, handling a variety of civil litigation matters, involving contract, fraud, personal injury, insurance, and trust disputes. He represented plaintiffs and defendants, and he's handled trial, arbitration, and post-judgment proceedings, including arguing before the Fourth District Court of Appeal, Division One. For over a decade, he also worked for and taught in Applications of Psychology to Law, Inc.'s Bar Secrets program, where he specialized in Evidence and Civil Procedure, and where he helped numerous law students pass bar examinations in California and other states. Mr. Poplin graduated summa cum laude in 2008 from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where he was a key member of the school's award-winning Mock Trial and ADR teams. He also earned awards for excellence in Trial Practice, Legal Writing, Negotiation Theory & Skills, Business Associations, Constitutional Law, Wills & Trusts, Federal Criminal Law, and American Legal History. He interned with a small law firm, working on murder and business litigation cases. He was later a certified legal intern in the Alternate Public Defender's Office of San Diego, where he appeared on the recover over 200 times, advocating for juveniles. While he awaited his bar examination results, Mr. Poplin donated over 500 pro bono hours to the San Diego County Public Defender's Office in its competitive post-graduate law clerk program. Mr. Poplin graduated cum laude in 2004 from the University of Arizona, where he earned a degree in Journalism and minor in Spanish. He received awards for excellence in writing and online journalism.
